The "map" screen

Showcase your company’s geographical reach by creating a "Map" screen in PlayPlay! This step-by-step tutorial demonstrates how to integrate a map, crop the visual, add a catchy headline, and animate the appearance of geolocation icons. It’s an ideal method for presenting a network of branches, highlighting a national presence, or showing how your teams are distributed across a territory.

Here are the steps to follow to design an animated "Map" screen:

Setting up the base screen

  • Open a project in PlayPlay and click "Add screen."

  • Select a simple template (e.g., the "Media" screen).

  • Remove the default media so that only a solid-colored background remains.

Adding and cropping the map

  • In the "Elements" tab, click "Add media."

  • Search for a visual (e.g., "map of France") in PlayPlay’s image library, or upload your own file.

  • Select the illustration and adjust its size and position on the screen.

  • Click the "Remove background" option to keep only the outline of the territory.

Adding the hook text

  • Still in the "Elements" tab, add a text box (e.g., "Find us all across France!").

  • Customize the font, color, and layout of the text next to the map.

  • Set the start time and duration for the text to appear on the timeline.

Integrating location icons

  • In the "Icons" category under the "Elements" tab, search for emojis or location markers (e.g., "location").

  • Customize the color of the icons and place the first marker on a specific region of the map.

  • Duplicate the icon as many times as needed and distribute the markers across the map.

  • Optional: Add additional text labels with the names of cities or regions.

Timing and synchronization

  • Open the detailed timeline.

  • Slightly offset the appearance of each icon so that they pop up one after another on the map, creating a progressive animation.

  • Adjust the total duration of the screen to fit your project's needs.

    Finalization

  • Preview the output to verify that the geographical markers appear in a rhythmic sequence.
