Word that appears with a delay

Learn how to create a staggered text-reveal effect to add energy to the start of your videos! This simple trick allows you to reveal a word, a name, or a key piece of information with a slight delay, creating an element of surprise that’s perfect for introducing an interview or a presentation.

Here is the step-by-step method for achieving a staggered text reveal :

1. Choosing the Screen Template

  • Open a project in PlayPlay and click "Add screen."

  • Search for and select the "Title Pop 4" screen template.

2. Configuring the Background and Main Text

  • Remove the existing media from the template to leave a solid-colored background.

  • Locate the "Title" field in the left-hand side panel.

  • Enter the first part of the phrase (e.g., "Meeting with"), then insert a line break before typing the word you want to appear with an offset effect (e.g., "Carole").

3. Creating the Offset Effect

  • Select the word on the second line.

  • Change its text color to match the background color exactly (this will make the word temporarily invisible).

  • Apply a white highlight to that same word.

4. Finalizing and Result

  • When played, the main text appears first, followed by the highlighted word, which emerges afterward to create a "reveal" effect.

  • Continue editing your video by adding subsequent screens (e.g., the interview or an introduction to the person).
